BMW electrifies the new X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition

If you're looking for a luxurious and sporty SUV, you might want to take a closer look at the BMW X5 M Competition and the BMW X6 M Competition. BMW will debut its new 48v system and pair it with an also new M TwinPower Turbo 4.4‑litre V8 engine. This engine produces 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) and 460 kW (625hp).

This electric system includes an electric motor integrated in the housing of the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. This small motor delivers up to 9kW (12hp) of additional drive power and 200 Nm (147 lbft) of torque.

The 48V battery is housed in the engine compartment. The battery is charged through adaptive recuperation under braking and on the overrun. Both models only need 3,9 seconds to go from 0 to 100kmh.

Both the BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition come with a host of advanced features designed to enhance the driving experience. These include adaptive suspension and dynamic stability control. Both vehicles also come with an infotainment system with the latest-generation iDrive control/operation system, complete with the BMW Curved Display and BMW Operating System 8.
