V12 Vantage S. The most extreme Aston Martin in history [Video]

Aston Martin announced in their latest video teaser that they were going to reveal a new car on May 29, but it seems they did not want to wait, so they revealed the "most extreme Aston Martin" the day before, and it's a hellish machine. And if you are thinking about the One-77, that is in another league.

Seems i was right about the car, and wrong about the transmission. The new V12 Vantage S comes with an also new Sportshift III AMT (automated manual transmission), made by transmission experts Oerlikon Graziano, that is 25kg lighter than the outgoing six-speed manual gearbox.

The engine is the naturally aspirated 6.0 liter AM28 unit that produces 573PS (421kW or 565hp) and 620Nm (457lb/ft). Acceleration figures weren't given, but we do know it has a top speed of 330km/h (205mph).

To help reduce the weight of the car, various pieces were manufactured from carbon fiber. For example, the famous aluminum vanes were replaced with a new carbon fibre arrangement, the 19-inch wheels are made from a new lightweight forged alloy, and the exhaust system is lighter, smaller and louder. This means the car "only" weighs 1665kg (3671lbs).

Another new feature in this car is the adaptive suspension. It comes with three modes, "Normal", "Sport" and "Track". There is also another Sport mode that changes the throttle response, gearshift speed and timing, and exhaust note. HElping stop this sports car are the carbon ceramic discs with six-piston calipers in the front and four in the back.

In the interior we can find a lot of leather. You can also choose to have seats made from carbon fiber and Alcantara, plus many other trim choices.
