Ford refreshes the Edge, but only in China

Ford has recently announced the launch of a new variant of the Edge SUV, the Edge L, for the Chinese market. The Edge L is a longer version of the standard Edge model, offering more space and features to Chinese consumers.

The Edge L features a stylish and modern design, with a bold front grille, sharp lines, and sleek headlights. The longer wheelbase of the Edge L gives it a more elongated profile, enhancing its sporty and elegant appearance.

Inside, the Edge L offers a spacious and luxurious cabin, with plenty of room for passengers and cargo. The interior is finished with high-quality materials, including leather upholstery, and features a range of advanced features such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 27-inch 4K touchscreen covering most of the dashboard and a panoramic sunroof.

Available with two powertrain options. A turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine producing 249hp (185kW / 252PS) and 378 Nm (278.8 lbft) of torque. Also available is a more powerful self-charging hybrid variant with a combined 271hp (202kW / 275PS) and 405 Nm (298.7 lb-ft) of torque. (fuel consumption of 6.31 lt/100 km (37.3 mpg) and a combined driving range of 1,188 km (738 miles)  under the WLTC cycle. Power is transmitted through an automatic gearbox and an active 4WD system.

The public presentation is expected in April, with the hybrid version in July. Production will take place in China (Changan-Ford joint venture). The Edge sold in other markets is due for a refresh and maybe this Chinese version will find it's way to different countries.
