A few months after the presentation of the Holden Commodore VF Series (known as the Chevrolet SS in the U.S.A.), which includes a sedan, a station wagon and a sort of pickup (ute), we now have the introduction of the more powerful versions of these cars, known as Gen-F, brought to us by HSV (Holden Special Vehicles). The "aussies" have gone mad.
HSV fitted the Clubsport (sedan) and the Maloo (ute) with the LS3 6.2-litre V8 engine that produces 431PS (317kW or 425hp) and 550Nm (406lb/ft).
Then we have the Clubsport R8 (sedan), Clubsport R8 Tourer (station wagon) and the Maloo R8 (ute), which come equipped with the same LS3 engine, but now with 442PS (325kW or 436hp). The torque value remains the same at 550Nm (406lb/ft).
HSV also updated the Grange (doesn't belong to the Commodore VF Series family) and the Senator Signature, giving them a more corporate, but still sporty look, and the same LS3 engine found in the other vehicles. but this time with 462PS (kW or hp) and 570Nm (420lb/ft) of torque.
And to finish, we have the most powerful version. The GTS comes fitted with the 6.2 liter, supercharged, V8, LSA engine that has a power output of 585PS (430kW or 577hp) and produces 740Nm (546lb/ft) of torque.
Regardless of the chosen engine, these rear-wheel drive vehicles can be selected with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. They all have 20-inch wheels (the design depends on the version), Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), improved braking system (larger discs) and suspensions (lower and stiffer), and specific sportier body kits (new bumpers, and side skirts).
