Rumors circulating on the internet indicate that Opel might be working in an OPC version of the Adam to tackle the Mini Cooper S, Audi A1 and the Fiat 500 Abarth.
The engine that might be chosen to power this little car could be, according to carpassion, the 1.4liter turbo with 150bhp, or the 1.6liter turbo from the Corsa OPC according to pistonheads with 192bhp and 230Nm and noticiasautomotivas says it could be the 1.4 Ecotec Turbo developing 180bhp.
Like all OPC (VXR in the United Kingdom) versions the exterior and interior will suffer some modifications to make it look more sporty, but the electric version seems to be dead. According to AutonewsEurope Opel's chief engineer for the Adam, Dieter Metz, said. "We could not charge the customer the price needed to make it work on the cost side."
The regular version of the Opel Adam will go on sale February/March of 2013 with the 1.2liter with 70bhp and a 1.4 unit with 87 or 100bhp, it might get a 3-cylinder turbo engine under 100bhp and another over 100bhp.
