In just one month Mercedes will present the CLA to the public for the first time at the NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) in Detroit. But now we know what engines it will use.
When it goes on sale, in April, you can choose from four different engine, three petrol, the CLA 180 BlueEFFICIENCY with 122hp (90 kW), the CLA 200 BlueEFFICIENCY with 156hp (115 kW) and the CLA 250 BlueEFFICIENCY with 211hp (155 kW) and one diesel option, the CLA 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 170 hp (125 kW).
In the autumn of 2013 more versions will also be available. The CLA 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 136hp (100 kW) and the all-wheel drive model CLA 250 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY with 211 hp (155 kW). Also in September Mercedes is release their top model, the CLA 45 AMG 4MATIC with an AMG turbocharged 2.0liter engine (M133) developing 354hp (260 kW) connected to a revised 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission.
For 2014 three new diesel engines will also make it to the market, the CLA 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 109hp (80 kW) and two other 4MATIC models, the CLA 200 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY 136hp (100 kW), and the CLA 220 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY 170hp (125 kW).
The base price for the petrol model will be around €28.000 ($37.000), while the diesel will start from €36.000 ($47.500). The CLA will be built at the Mercedes factory in Kecskemét, Hungary.
