Nissan GT-R is a supercar that keeps evolving, since the day it was introduced back in 2008. The engine is still the same 3.8-liter VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 that first had 480bhp and over the years has seen many power increases until it reaches 545bhp for the 2013 model.
The changes go a little deeper with several improvements like a tweaked engine response in both the mid- and upper-rev range, increased body rigidity and numerous changes to the shock absorbers, springs and front stabilizer. In the engine we can find changes in the high-output fuel injectors that control fuel injection in a better way to improve mid-range engine response and acceleration at higher revs, upgraded turbochargers to help maintain boost pressure for longer at high revs and improved flow of the engine oil to reduce internal friction and help dissipate heat.
Nissan also made changes to the center of gravity of the car by altering the shock absorbers and front stabilizer and applying reinforcements in the dash panel bar and instrument panel member. On the outside there's no changes over the last year model.
Like every brand Nissan tested the 2013 GT-R at the Nürburgring and obtained a time that is 20 seconds faster then the original R35 from 2008, with a lap time of 7 minutes and 18.6 seconds.
