Official! Here's the 2014 Citroen Grand C4 Picasso. We already saw it here [Video]

Like its younger brother (C4 Picasso), the Grand C4 Picasso was spotted on the road several times before the official presentation, so the look of this seven-seater MPV was already well known. The front remains similar to the smaller version, with a few small changes, but the rear suffered bigger modifications so it could have room for an extra row of seats.

The most obvious changes are the redesigned tail lights and the increased length of the Grand C4 Picasso, but it has the same length as its predecessor (4590mm, 1830mm wide and 1630mm high). The EMP2 platform allows it to have a longer wheelbase, now having 2840mm, giving the vehicle a bigger versatility, more interior room for the passengers and a boot (trunk) with a capacity of 645 liters. The Grand C4 Picasso is around 100kg (220lbs) lighter than its predecessor.

The interior is the same as the one in the Citroen C4 Picasso. It includes a 7-inch touchpad that controls all the in-car functions or a 12-inch panoramic HD screen which is used to display essential driving information and can also be configured by the driver to show data for either the navigation system or driving aids like the rear view camera. The optional large glass roof and standard panoramic windscreen will give the car a greater sense of space.

Strangely, Citroen just announced the diesel engines that will equip the Grand C4 Picasso, but i do know the 1.6-liter VTI 120 with 160Nm (118lb/ft) and the THP 155 with 240Nm (177lb/ft) will be available in it. The average fuel consumption for both is 6.3 (44.8 UK mpg or 37.3 USA mpg) and 6l/100km (47.1 UK mpg or 39.2 USA mpg), respectively.

Moving to the diesel engines, we have the e-HDi 90 Airdream mated to the new 6-speed clutchless gearbox, ETG6 (includes a Start&Stop system), that emits just 98g/km and has a combined fuel consumption of 3.8l/100km (74.3 UK mpg or 62.9 USA mpg). Next, we have the e-HDi 115 that produces 270Nm of torque, emits 104g/km of CO2 with the six-speed manual gearbox (105g/km with the ETG6) and has an average fuel consumption of 4l/100km (70.6 UK mpg or 58.8 USA mpg).

The last diesel engine is the more powerful. It is the first Citroen model to be fitted with a Euro 6-compliant BlueHDi engine: the BlueHDi 150. It emits just 110 g/km of CO2 (117g/km with the ETG6) and includes a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.
