Renault couldn't stay out of this new niche, bigger sedans with smaller prices and just introduced its new model, the Renault Symbol. The Symbol will be sold in markets where Dacia isn't present and the public will have the first contact with the car in the Istanbul Motor Show in Turkey, starting this Friday.
Underneath it's a Dacia Logan, so the differences are mainly in the looks category, with a different hood, grille and front bumper. On the inside we can find the Renault Media Nav multimedia navigation system with a seven-inch (18cm) touchscreen color display, automatic air-conditioning.
Engine options include the new 0.9-liter TCe 89bhp turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that (5.3 liters/100km) with 122g of CO2/km, Just like the Logan, it will also come with two versions of the 1.5-liter diesel, the dCi 75 and dCi 90 engine.
“New Renault Symbol delivers a level of equipment normally associated with vehicles from the next segment up,” notes Evrim Gouillou, Marketing Project Manager. “Its new design and attractive equipment package are the perfect answer to meet the demands of customers in Renault’s international markets.”
Sales in Turkey will start in the beginning of 2013 and later that year in Algeria and Tunisia.
