Fornasari Gigi 311GT - Another to never see the light of day?

There are many people in the world who would like to design and manufacture an automobile, but the vast majority do not get to be something more than drawings on a computer, yet we must give value to these efforts and support them.

But Fornasari deserves a little more credit, they were founded by Giuseppe Fornasari at Montebello Vicentino, Italy, in the now distant year of 1999, and have already built the RR600 in 1999 and the RR99 last year. But they are not particularly pretty and are quite expensive, meaning only 35 to 40 are built each year.

The car is described as having an Italian design with an American heart, and that heart will pump out enough power to get the car, inspired by the GTs of the 50s, to 340km/h (211mph) and go from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 3,5 seconds.

The 311G looks a little bit like a Wiesmann, with a Zagato style double bubble roof. It has 4140 x 1940 x 1300mmm, with a wheelbase of 2650mm, and a weight of 1000kg (2205lb).
