Most carmakers must be full of spies because once again we have the official pictures of a new car being shown before the official presentation from the German company. But we really don't care since we have been waiting a long time for some images of the A-Class AMG or A45 AMG.
And the only thing missing was the look of the car, since the specifications were given by Mercedes last year. It will come with a four-cylinder 2.0liter turbo engine with 360hp (365kW) @ 6.000rpm (redline at 6.700rpm) and 450Nm between 2.250 and 5.000rpm. But according to Mercedes it has an average fuel consumption of just 7liters each 100km, and the CO2 emissions vary between 161 to 165g/km.
All that power, that is bigger than the 3liter 6-cylinder engine from 135i and the 2.5liter 5-cylinder engine from Audi, is more than enough to accelerate the car from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in just 4.6 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h (155mph).
Of course the A45 AMG isn't FWD. Mercedes gave their new car the also new 4MATIC system that in reality will make it a FWD car most of the times, with power going to the rear wheels only when needed. This system only works with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission, so don't expect to see it with a manual gearbox.
Outside it is almost identical to the A-Class with the AMG Sport Package, with the exception of some small trim pieces in the front bumper and side skirts, and the shape of the exhaust, while the interior has some pieces in carbon fiver (probably fake), red seat belts and new sport seats with red stitching.
