With the presentation scheduled for 20:00 CET, a moment ago the first images of the new Mercedes S-Class appeared on the internet. The codenamed W222 Mercedes was supposed to be officially introduced in Hamburg, Germany, at the Airbus A380 delivery center, but we already saw it several times, and we already know the technical specifications.
Mercedes will offer a 3.0 liter V6 turbocharged diesel (S350 BlueTEC) with 258PS (255hp or 190kW) and 620Nm (457lb/ft), a 4.7 liter V8 petrol engine (S500) with a power output of 455PS (449hp or 335kW) and 700Nm (516lb/ft) of torque, and a hybrid unit (S400 Hybrid) with a 3.5 liter petrol V6 and one electric motor that together puts out 306PS (302hp or 225kW) and 370Nm (273lb/ft).
All engine options come connected with the 7G-Tronic Plus transmission. The regular S-Class is 5116mm long (the longer version is 5246mm long), 1899mm wide and 1496mm tall. Depending on the version, the car weighs between 2600kg (5732lbs) and 2700kg (5952lbs).
