We already saw the new Kia Soul, it was introduced at the New York International Auto Show in March, but the European version will be seen for the first time in Frankfurt. And, unsurprisingly, there are a few differences between the versions of the new and the old continent.
One of them is the LED daytime running light (DRL) fitted to the European version. Also new is the SUV Styling Pack (the car in red) that features a piano black bumper trim, side skirts, wheel arches and a black painted roof.
The 2014 Soul is built around the new platform also used by the new cee'd, meaning the ride and handling was improved. The new platform also means the Soul 2 has a longer wheelbase and is also wider. The cargo area increased by around 4% to 354 liters.
The engines options are carried over from its predecessor. You will be able to choose between the latest versions of Kia's 1.6-liter GDi petrol and CRDi diesel engines. Kia will also fit the new Soul with "rear LED ‘halo' lights, xenon headlights, keyless entry and push-button engine start, automatic climate control, cruise control, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated front and rear seats, panoramic glass sunroof and heated and electrically folding exterior mirrors".
Sales start early next year, with all the details like equipment, technical specifications and prices being confirmed close to that date.
