The GTI meeting at Wörthersee (starts today) is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, festivals dedicated to single, and every year Volkswagen takes this opportunity to show a few more powerful cars. Seat and Skoda, which belong to Volkswagen, already announced they are showing the Leon Cup Racer and the Rapid Sport, and VW just announced they are bringing the Design Vision GTI. [Update] See the new gallery below
This special GTI is an extreme version of the hot hatchback, but it does not come close to the most radical version ever, the Golf GTI W12, which had a 6.0 liter W12 bi-turbo engine that produced 650PS (478kW or 641hp) and 720Nm (531lb/ft).
The Design Vision GTI has a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 with 503PS (370kW or 496hp) and 560Nm (413lb/ft) of torque from 4000rpm up to 6000rpm. All that power and torque is managed through the dual clutch gearbox (DSG) and the all-wheel drive system.
It will reach the top speed of 300km/h (186mph) and the first 100km/h (62mph) are done in just 3.9 seconds. When you want to stop, you can trust the ceramic brake discs with 380mm in the front and 356 in the back, that can be seen through the 20 inch wheels.
The exterior, while it is easily recognizable as a Golf, suffered several changes to make it perform better and look more aggressive. It is wider and shorter. The front and rear bumpers had several changes done to them, but the biggest was change in the car was the complete redesign of the C-pillar that is now detached from the body.
The list of changes go on, and the interior also had many, but a pictures talks louder than a thousand words, so check the gallery below. I will update this when more images appear.
