Back in 2010, Audi showed the for the first time the Quattro concept at the Paris Motor Show. It was created to celebrate 30th anniversary of the original Audi Quattro and the Audi quattro four-wheel drive system that can still be found in many modern vehicles from the German company. At the time, it as rumored that the car was going to be produced in limited numbers, but in 2012 that was canceled.
Recent rumors indicate we will see the production version, or a version that is very close to be the final one, at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The original concept wwas based on the RS5 and had a 2.5-liter five-cilynder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It produced 408PS (300kW or 403bhp) and could reach 100km/ (62mph) in just 3.9 seconds. The upcoming model is said to be based on the Audi A6, and should be equipped with the gearbox and V8 biturbo engine from Bentley. This engine should be tuned to around 600PS (441kW or 592bhp) and 800Nm (590lb/ft) of torque.
The weight should be at around 1200kg or 2646lbs (100kg or 221lbs less than the 2010 concept), which along with so much power, will reach 100km/h (62mph) in just 3 seconds. Let this be true!
