HEICO SPORTIV has been improving and upgrading Volvos for many years, and their latest project is the V40 Cross Country T5 that suffers a rather large power boost and gains the title of HPC (HEICO Performance Car), besides many other obvious, and not so obvious, modifications. According to the German "tuner", the car was designed as a series-producible vehicle.
Since is is based on the Volvo V40 Cross Country, the car comes with four-wheel drive and the 2.5-liter, 5-cylinder turbo T5 engine which saw its power be increased to a maximum value of 350PS (345bhp or 257kW), while the torque figure was raised to 510Nm (376lb/ft). Those values are achieved when the driver presses a button in the center console that activates the water-ethanol injection system.
This system has three modes; Level 1 (button turns green) is the standard setting for 320PS (), Level 2 (blue) opens the exhaust system flaps, Level 3 (blue, flashing) activates the water-ethanol injection system to achieve the maximum power output. When Level 3 is activated, the V40 T5 HPC takes 5.6 seconds to reach 100km/h (62mph) and has a top speed of 265km/h (165mph).
HEICO SPORTIV also made changes to the car's suspension, lowering it by 30mm (a little over 1 inch), fitted it with 19-inch VOLUTION® VII. Diamond-Cut Black wheels and 235/35 R19 ContiForceContact cup tires. The stopping power comes from a six-piston sport brake system with 370mm perforated discs.
Aesthetically, HEICO created a s+special body kit made of lightweight, flexible polyurethane plastic and covered it with a Matt Toxic Green film, offset with black, lateral decorative stripes. Moving into the interior we can see the Recaro sport seats, Alcantara sport steering wheel, Alcantara gearshift and handbrake with contrasting green stitching, and aluminum pedals.
The German company will only sell the individual parts, but if there is sufficient demand, they might have a series prodution of the V40 T5 HPC.
